As your local Yuba City Newborn Photographer, I want to help you preserve those early memories while making the process easy and seamless! Instead of having to pack up the baby and gather all of the needed supplies, I come to you! Prepare to relax and cuddle with your family and new baby in your own home, while I bring all of the props and equipment to your house for a successful and comfortable photo session. I prioritize newborn safety, as well as capturing family connection with creative photos.

    I bring over a decade of experience to the table. Not only have I been photographing for 15 years, but I have extensive child and baby experience as a college Childhood Developmento major, a former elementary teacher of 10 years and former preschool teacher. I have also taken extensive newborn safety and posing courses.

    You’d never know it, but this little baby’s face was covered in severe baby acne! Newborn photography requires a lot of editing, from blemish removal to creating composite images for safer posing. I am an expert editor and I am fast and efficient too! Receive your images in just two weeks!

  • Specialized in Preemies and Medical Needs

    I photograph all newborns, but I also specialize in providing newborn photography for high-risk babies such as preemies and those with medical needs. My own son was born at just 28 weeks and I partner with local NICUs to provide safe newborn photography for similar babies. This gives me a set of skills in safe newborn posing and knowledge in preemie development that other photographers simply do not have. All newborns, no matter if born full-term or pre-term will benefit from my expertise in safety.

Newborn Lifestyle Session Only

This session does not include intricate posing but rather focuses on capturing your newborn naturally as well as interacting with your family in a natural lifestyle environment. Session takes about an hour.

Combined Posed Newborn and Family Session

This session includes your little one’s posed newborn session with multiple different poses and setups, but also includes photos of them interacting with you and the rest of your family. Get some nice family photos included as well as those treasured snuggling photos. Session takes 1-2 hours

  • Includes 25 Digital Downloads of your choice

 Frequently Asked Questions: Newborn Edition

  • I take newborn safety extremely seriously, more so than most, since my own son was on oxygen for his first 6 months and extremly critical as a newborn. Safety is absolutely the most important part of every session! I have completed training on Safe Newborn Photography, but because of my experience with my son, I actually find that I know far more than any of these courses provide. I am extremely knowledgable in spotting subtle signs of distressed or labored breathing, far before it actually becomes a problem and will always ensure that your baby is safe and comfortable. I only do completely safe poses in my newborn workflow, and always utilze a parent as a spotter. This will be controversial to some, but I also ALWAYS do newborn sessions fully healthy and fully masked to ensure that I will never be the reason that a baby gets sick, or worse hospitalized with RSV.

  • My calendar generally books up 1-2 months before, so I always recommend inquiring 2-3 months before. We will reserve your session, but then determine the date after baby is born. That being said, don’t hesitate to reach out if your baby has already been born as I do sometimes have openings in my schedule, especially for in-home newborn sessions, as these aren’t dependent on sunset times like my outdoor sessions are.

  • I generally recommend sessions take place between 1-3 weeks old, but anytime in the first 6 weeks generally works great. I will also photograph newborn sessions between 6-8 weeks if desired, but some swaddling and posed shots will no longer be possible at this age due to baby’s size and often resistance to being swaddled, and baby is much more likely to be fully awake for the session.

  • Since I do In-Home Newborn Sessions, I will come to your house with everything we need for a successful photo session, from props to swaddles to baskets and more. Before our session, I will ask you for basic color scheme questions and picture preferences and then will bring appropriate props, swaddles and equipment for those preferences.
